Charley Jamison, who passed away at the family home here Saturday morning following a brief illness. Charlie A. Jamison was born in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania, June 26, 1861, and died at his home in Glasco, Kansas, October 25, 1930, age 69 years, 3 months and 25 days. When a small child he went with his parents to Missouri where they lived for a few years. In 1873 they came to Kansas, settling on their homestead 5 1/2 miles northwest of Glasco, where he lived, enduring the joys and sorrows that came to the early settlers of Kansas. He was married to Alice Hostettler, February 23, 1898. To this union were born two children, Neal H. and one daughter, who died in infancy. At the time of his marriage, he moved to Glasco where he has since made his home. Mr. Jamison was an outstanding character, ever befriending those who needed his help. His home was always open to every one who needed assistance. He was an active and charter member of the Good Templar lodge here years ago and was always interested in temperance work. He was also a member of the Glasco I.O.O.F. Lodge and lived its teachings as completely as is humanly possible and was faithful to the end. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, one son, one brother and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by Rev. R.R. Kniser of Beloit.
