Description	:	Charlie was born about the time his parents moved to Frankfort, Kansas. The family moved to Atchison, Kansas by 1886 when his sister May was born there. They lived in Atchison until 1 July 1890 when his mother (and presumably her kids) left for Anaconda Montana. In about 1901 at age 20 he started his working career at the Anaconda Copper Mining company (ACM). At the time of his father's death in 1906, he was living in Iowa. The family moved to Atchison, Kansas by 1886 when his sister May was born there. They lived in Atchison until 1 July 1890 when his mother (and presumably her kids) left for Anaconda Montana. In about 1901 at age 20 he started his working career at the Anaconda Copper Mining company (ACM). At the time of his father's death in 1906, he was living in Iowa. Details of his time in Iowa are not known. By 1910 he had returned to Anaconda. He then worked for the ACM his entire career and stayed in Anaconda until his death. His job in 1910 was as a millman and he was living with his sister Edith and her husband. On 14 June 1910, he married Ellen Barnes in the Mormon church in Anaconda. This was easily the best and most fortunate decision of his life. In 1915 he worked in the Reduction Works. In 1918 he was an Engine Driver in the Reduction Works. In 1920 he was an Engine Driver for the BA&P railroad (Butte Anaconda and Pacific). In 1930 he was an Engineer for BA&P. In 1936 he was a Driver for BA&P and he stayed a driver until his retirement in 1955. He was a typical Anaconda Company worker. He went to work rain, shine, or snow. He smoked cigars that smelled up the house. He complained about the ACM. He suffered through unemployment caused by strikes against the ACM. He was sometimes crabby when he shouldn't have been. He never owned a home. He loved to play the harmonica and have music sessions with friends. When weather permitted, he and his extended family enjoyed family picnics with Mulligan stew. (Basically everyone brought something to throw in the stew pot and presto: Mulligan stew.) He died on of a heart attack (acute coronary occulusion). He was also a Type 2 diabetic.
