White, 60, was stricken with a hemorrhage of the brain about 9 o'clock Monday morning at the White Brothers Foundry, Westernport, and was removed to his home on Main Street extended, where he died about twelve o'clock. He had been in ill health from a heart condition for several years, though he was able to be about and had gone to work that morning. White, 60, was stricken with a hemorrhage of the brain about 9 o'clock Monday morning at the White Brothers Foundry, Westernport, and was removed to his home on Main Street extended, where he died about twelve o'clock. He had been in ill health from a heart condition for several years, though he was able to be about and had gone to work that morning. A native of Westernport, he was associated with his brothers, Thomas White and the late Michael White, in the operation of the White Bros. Foundry and Machine Shop for many years. He was a son of the late Patrick F. and Margaret (Kirkwood) White, who were parents of thirteen children, of whom only Thomas White survives. Michael White died 17 March 1942 from injuries received in an accident at the foundry. Mr. White was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and Piedmont Council No. 685, Knights of Columbus. Besides his brother he leaves two nephews, Leo White of Baltimore, and William White of Dallas, Texas. Solemn High Mass will be said at St. Peter's Church tomorrow morning." "The Herald" (Piedmont, W.Va.), Thursday 14 October 1943: "Solemn Requiem Mass for Charles A. White, 60, who died suddenly last Monday morning was held Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Rev. Monsignor Antonino Scarpati was celebrant; Rev. Leon Warczynsi, assistant pastor, was deacon and Rev. Charles H. Quinn, assistant pastor, was subdeacon. Msgr. Scarpati delivered the sermon. Rev. Robert Arthur, of St. Patrick's Church, Washington, and Rev. Lawrence Kilkenny, of St. Joseph Church, Midland, were in the sanctuary. Mrs. Edward Pendergast was the soloist. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Active pallbearers were Michael O'Laughlin, Patrick Laughlin, P. J. O'Brien, Edmund Getty, Arthur Fazenbaker, Fred Wiseman, Thomas V. McGuire, John Niland and John DeVore; honorary, James Reno, Earl Kalbaugh, Guthrie Luke, H. P. Whitworth, Fred Shaffer, Thomas Moran, Timothy Kilduff, Dr. Donald P. Whitworth, Joseph L. Mansfield, Joseph Mullen, Francis Cosgrove, Heber Poland, J. Clark Wilson, Lewis E. Harris, George Cleaver, Howard Dixon, Owen E. Hitchens, John O'Brien, Carl Bowman, August Schwartz, Dr. J. Norman Reeves, Dr. Raymond W. Reeves and Martin McGuire. Hitchins, Mrs. Ann McNally and Mrs. Thomas Brooks, Cumberland; John Wilson, Hagerstown; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Byrnes, Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell J. Mathias, Misses Winifred Greene and Mary and Emma Moody, Frostburg; Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Kilduff and Mrs. Harry Ward, Midland; Miss Mary Lennan, Elkins, W.Va.; Miss Nora Geary, Mr. and Mrs. William Jones, Miss Mamie Jones, Miss Rita Jones and Mrs. Douglas, of Lonaconing."
