Description	:	"The Herald" (Piedmont, W.Va.), Friday 3 April 1903: "Mrs. Margaret White, wife of Mr. Patrick F. White of Westernport, died at her home on 30 March 1903 at 6:05 p.m., aged 61 years. Mrs. White had been a sufferer from cancer in the breast for sometime past, but bore her affliction with patience and resignation to the end. The deceased was born in Scotland and came to this country at an early age with her mother, the late Mrs. Ellen Kirkwood, of Lonaconing, where Mrs. White is well known... Read More	"The Herald" (Piedmont, W.Va.), Friday 3 April 1903: "Mrs. Margaret White, wife of Mr. Patrick F. White of Westernport, died at her home on 30 March 1903 at 6:05 p.m., aged 61 years. Mrs. White had been a sufferer from cancer in the breast for sometime past, but bore her affliction with patience and resignation to the end. The deceased was born in Scotland and came to this country at an early age with her mother, the late Mrs. Ellen Kirkwood, of Lonaconing, where Mrs. White is well known and highly respected among her many friends and relatives. She was a lady of exceptionally strong Christian character and by her continued illness and death has caused general and widespread grief among her numerous acquaintances throughout this vicinity. Mrs. White was one of the oldest residents of Westernport, having lived here nearly thrity-six years. She was the mother of a large family, six sons and three daughters, as follows, John P. F. White, of Washington, D. C.; William E. White, of Rawlins, Wyoming; James, Michael, Thomas and Charles White, all of Westernport; and Ella and Mary White, known in religion as Sister Marie Joseph (Ella), SSJ., and Sister Marie Auxilia (Mary), SSJ., of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia; and Miss Julia White, of Westernport. She is also survived by one brother and four sisters as follows, Rev. James Kirkwood of Galva, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Dick of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Thomas Lowery of Cumberland; Mrs. Daniel Jones of Lonaconing, and Mrs. R. M. Boyd of Denver, Colorado. The funeral took place Thursday morning 2 April 1903 from St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, of which she had been a life long member, Rev. Father O'Donoghue, officiating, who in the course of his remarks spoke eloquently and feelingly of the noble and exemplary life of the deceased, as evidenced by her many years of constant devotion to family and church. A large concourse of friends from all sections of the country were in attendance. The active pallbearers were Messrs. T. F. Kenny, Taylor Morrison, R. H. Drane, John McGuigan, Harry Walker and Capt. William Mansfield. The honorary pall and flower bearers were Dr. E. H. Parsons, Messrs. W. T. Jamesson, James Hughes and Michael Carey. The remains were interred in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery at Westernport. The following relatives from out of town were present, Mr. and Mrs. John P. F. White, Wahington, D. C.; Senator D. E. Dick and Mrs. Mary Dick, Miss May and Mr. Frank White, of Baltimore; Mrs. R. M. Boyd of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Thomas Lowery and Mrs. Oscar Porter, of Cumberland; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Jones Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jones, James, William and Daniel Jones Jr., Mrs. Joseph Laird Sr., and daughter, Miss Minnie and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hadley, all of Lonaconing; Miss Ella Brown of Boetcherville; Patrick, Maggie and John McGuire, of Frostburg; Mrs. Mary Kilduff and son Bernard, Mrs. Michael Broderick and Edward White, all of Midland. The flower offerings were numerous and beautiful, including the following, a large cross of white roses with the inscription ‘Wife' from husband, Mr. P. E. White; pillow of natural roses with words ‘Ma at Rest' from family; heart of red carnations from her son, John P. F. White and wife, of Washington, D. C.; double fern bouquet with word ‘Sister' from Mrs. R. M. Boyd, of Denver, Colorado; ‘Gates Ajar' inscribed ‘Aunt Margaret' from Senator and Mrs. D. E. Dick of Baltimore; bouquet of lillies from Mrs. Thomas Lavin of McKeesport, Pa.; bouquet of lillies and carnations from Mrs. Thomas Lowery, of Cumberland, and wreath of lillies and carnations from Mrs. Henry Brant and Mrs. Oscar Porter, of same place."
