Berggren, who passed away Oct. 26, at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, were held Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 1:30 p.m. at the home, 110 South Story Street, and 2:30 p.m. at the South Marion Church, near Stratford, with the Rev. Those in charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Iver Johnson, Mrs. Arnold Sealine, Mrs. Floyd Erickson, Mrs. Lester Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Westrum and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Westrum. Pallbearers were Carl Anderson, Lester Carlson, Floyd Erickson, Iver Johnson, Rudy Andrews and Arnold Sealine. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery. 59 Years Old Charles August Berggren was born near Stanhope, April 16, 1887 and passed away at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, Oct. 26, 1946, at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 10 days. On February 26, 1913, he was united in marriage to Amy Sudderberg of Boone and to this union one daughter, Leona, was born. He lived on a farm for many years in the East Marion community and in March, 1942, retired and moved to Boone. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Berggren and one sister, Mrs. Len Johnson. Surviving are his wife, Amy of Boone; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Banghart, and one grandson, Gerald Banghart of Stratford; one brother, Elmer of Stanhope; two sisters, Mrs. Cliff Ristrum and Mrs. Anton Sealine, both of Stratford, other relatives and numerous friends. As a young man he joined the Christian church in Stanhope, later attended South Marion church near Stratford and was a member of the Ever Welcome Sunday school class for a number of years. He was a member of the Boone Moose Lodge, No. 104. Attended Funeral Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ralston of Davenport; Mrs. Henry Englebrecht of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Textrum, Mrs. Guy Wilcox and Mrs. Minnie Giltner, all of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sealine of Des Moines; Mrs. Arthur Marsh and O.J. Mater, both of Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Carlson of Jewell; Mrs. Leo Casner, Mrs. Robert Parkyn and Kenneth Sudderberg all of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Erickson of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Anderson of LaVerne; Mr. and Mrs. Justin Anderson of Lone Rock and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Westling and daughter of Algona.
