Mr. Hayden is survived by his wife Catherine Wathen Hayden whom he married on September 15, 1967, three children Walter R. Speith of Round Hill, Va, Kathryn C. Speith of Leonardtown, MD and Patricia Speith Bragg of Richmond, VA. Four sisters, Margaret L. "Sally" Humenik of Hollywood, MD, Frances F. "Sissy" Raley of Park Hall, MD, Ann Marie "Be Be" Woodburn and Nellie E. "Betsy" Carter both of Callaway, MD, four brothers, William D. "Tom" Hayden of Hollywood, MD James Ralph Smith of Leonardtown, MD, Joseph Ford Hayden and Henry A. "Bucky" Smith of Callaway, MD. Four grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. "Polly" Smith and Agnes Theresa Hayden. Friends called on Monday August 19, 2002 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD Prayers were recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD at 11:00 am the Reverend Rory Conley will be the celebrant.
