He was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Ralston, Oklahoma, the son of Roy and Ruah M. (Faught) Logan. He lived in eastern Colorado during his early years, then moved to Chanute where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was stationed in Alaska. On Aug. 9, 1937, he married Ellen M. Bockover in Fredonia. She survives. He was a car man for the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Ralston, Oklahoma, the son of Roy and Ruah M. (Faught) Logan. He lived in eastern Colorado during his early years, then moved to Chanute where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was stationed in Alaska. On Aug. 9, 1937, he married Ellen M. Bockover in Fredonia. She survives. He was a car man for the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and was an avid fan of wrestling and stock car racing and was a flagman for a number of years at the Chanute Speedway Race Track. He was a member of Faith Bible Church, the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees Inc. and a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW. Other survivors include a daughter, Phyllis K. Wade; a half-sister, Georgianna Gambill; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Francis Dunsworth, and a brother, Frank Logan. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Faith Bible Church, Chanute, Kansas, led by the Rev. R.A. Pefley and the Rev. Steve Pefley. Burial will follow at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, KS. Memorials to Faith Bible Church Building Fund or Horizon Hospice may be left with the funeral home. Johnson Mortuary, Chanute, is in charge of arrangements. *********************************
