Description	:	C. E. Wells of this city dropped dead on the street yesterday. Heart failure, the doctor said, was the cause of death. No one saw him fall, but when assistance came to him, life was extinct. It was over three minutes after he left Mr. Posson, with whom he was at work, when he was discovered by Mr. Posson, he having driven his team from where they were at work. he had made no complaint of any indisposition. He leaves a wife, two daughters and two sons.--State Journal, Monday. Mr. Wells had been in apparent good health up to the time of his death. He was a carpenter and had been working on a small barn in the early part of the day. After dinner, he helped another man haul some dirt. Without any warning, he fell to the ground unconscious. A physician was called but to no avail. His case was diagnosed as heart failure. he leaves two sons, two daughters and a wife, all of whom live in the immediate community. He had been a resident of Fairmont for mammy years and was a pioneer of the state. He was a member of the Workmen and the Woodmen Lodges. 12th child of Chester and Eliza (Roberts) Wells. Civil War Veteran, Company B, 74th Regiment, Illinois Infantry. Came to Fairmont, Nebraska in February, 1890. Cause of death: Paralysis of the Heart. Small grave stone states 1843 as DOB.
