Description	:	Mary Elizabeth Brannan was born January 17, 1847, at Pecatonica, Illinois, and was married to Charles E. Wells in 1867. To this union were born five children, three boys and two girls. The oldest boy, Clarence passed away July 8, 1901. Mrs. H.G. Marget, Mrs. F.G. Jackson, Charles A. and Winslow C. are the surviving children. In addition, she leaves nine grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Wells, the husband and father, died March 20, 1909. Read More	Mary Elizabeth Brannan was born January 17, 1847, at Pecatonica, Illinois, and was married to Charles E. Wells in 1867. To this union were born five children, three boys and two girls. The oldest boy, Clarence passed away July 8, 1901. Mrs. H.G. Marget, Mrs. F.G. Jackson, Charles A. and Winslow C. are the surviving children. In addition, she leaves nine grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Wells, the husband and father, died March 20, 1909. Mrs. Wells came to Nebraska March 3, 1890, where she has since resided. Since the death of her husband, she has made her home with her daughters, Mrs. Marget and Mrs. Jackson. Mrs. Wells has been in failing health for the last six or seven years. The immediate cause of her death was pneumonia. She quietly and peacefully passed away at 2:10 a.m. Monday May 18, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jackson. Mrs. Wells united with the Congregational church of Fairmont during the pastorate of the Rev. Charles H. Beaver and remained a loyal and faithful member until the time of her death. Of late years, owing to a partial stroke of apoplexy, she was unable to attend the church services which she had so faithfully supported in her years of good health. Mrs. Wells was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, of which she was a prime member in the organization, serving as the first president of the local corps. She was also a beneficiary member of the Royal Neighbors of American and the Degree of Honor. Funeral services were held from the home of Mrs. Jackson at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 19, Rev. A.T. Evens of the Congregational church officiating, assisted by Rev. E.J.T. Connely of Grace Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery.
