Description	:	Charles F. Messmore, 82, and for over 35 years a resident of Tipton, died at the home of his son-in-law, C.E. Findling, west of Tipton, Wednesday morning. His death ended an illness which started several months ago. About five weeks ago he became bedfast at his home on North Independence street, this city, and was taken to the home of the son-in-law, where he received every care possible. Heart and stomach trouble caused death. The body was removed to the Leatherman-Morris funeral home for preparation and will remain there for services. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on North... Read More	Charles F. Messmore, 82, and for over 35 years a resident of Tipton, died at the home of his son-in-law, C.E. Findling, west of Tipton, Wednesday morning. His death ended an illness which started several months ago. About five weeks ago he became bedfast at his home on North Independence street, this city, and was taken to the home of the son-in-law, where he received every care possible. Heart and stomach trouble caused death. The body was removed to the Leatherman-Morris funeral home for preparation and will remain there for services. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on North Main street at any time. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00, with Rev. True S. Haddock officiating, and interment will be in Fairview cemetery beside the wife, who preceded him in death. Charles F. Messmore was born at Marshfield, Warren county, November 20, 1856 and was married in that county to Miss Frances E. Galloway, whose death occurred December 3, 1922. They removed to Tipton with their family in 1904 and for many years he was employed by the Nickel Plate railroad as baggage man at the Tipton station. He was a man who had many friends and his passing will be a matter of much regret to all. Surviving children are Charles Messmore of Cleveland 0.; Leroy Messmore of Frankfort, Nickel plate engineer; Ernest E. Messmore of Chicago, also a locomotive engineer, and Mrs. Bertha Richards of Kokomo. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Two of the grandchildren were reared by the deceased and his wife. Four children preceded the father to the grave, the daughter, Mrs. C. E. Findllng, dying several months ago. A son, William Messmore, died in Madison township two years ago. He is also survived by two brothers, Allen of Alvin, Ill., and Henry of North Manchester.
