Death was due to dilation of the heart and the end had been expected for many hours as her condition was such that there was no chance for her recovery. Read More	Mrs. C.F. Messmore died at her on home on North Independence street last night. Death was due to dilation of the heart and the end had been expected for many hours as her condition was such that there was no chance for her recovery. She had been ill for over a year and seriously so for the last two weeks. The deceased was born September 21, 1855, on a farm near Marshfield, Warren county, Indiana, and she was the daughter of Samuel and Prudence (Manning) Galloway, pioneers of Warren county and who with the parents of the surviving husband, have passed to their reward. She was the youngest of four sister and three brothers, all of whom have preceded her in death. The deceased was married February 7, 1878, to Charles F. Messmore, a neighbor boy. The ceremony was preformed at the home of the bride's parents. The school days of the young married couple had been spent together as they attended the little country school which stood just across the road from the Galloway farm home and an attachment begun in childhood had ripened into love as they grew to womanhood and manhood. Shortly after their marriage they moved to a farm just across the state line road in Vermillion county, Illinois, and about four and a half miles east of Alvin. At this place Mr. and Mrs. Messmore made their home and reared a family of eight children, all living except Rosa and Lula, who died in infancy. In December, 1898, the family moved to Hoopston, Ill., in order to give their children better education facilities and they remained there until an exchange in farms was made and brought them to Tipton, August 16, 1904, where they purchased property at 409 North Independence street. Besides the husband, who survives, the deceased leaves six children; William S. of near Hobbs; Charles A. an attorney of Indianapolis; Ernest O., of this city; Mrs. Bertha Alberson, of Kokomo; Leroy, of this city; and Laura, at home. For the past several years, the deceased cared for two motherless grandchildren, they being Luella, age 12 and Evelyn, age 7.
