He was a former resident of Atchison and had lived at Everest the last three years. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2: P.M. at the Harouff-Arensberg chapel with the Rev. Charles Frederick Engeman, 69, Everest, died this morning at the Atchison hospital. He was a former resident of Atchison and had lived at Everest the last three years. Members of the family will receive friends from 7-8 P.M. tomorrow at the Harouff-Arensberg Mortuary. Mr. Engeman was born July 23, 1902, at Edmond, Okla., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Engeman. When he was a small boy the family moved to Wathena and he attended Bellemont rural school near there. He and the former Gladys Evans of Doniphan were married in 1932, and moved to Cummings where Mr. Engeman was employed at an orchard operated by the late Dr. W.K. Fast. They later moved to Atchison and he worked 14 years for the Ed F. Mangelsdorf and Bro. Seed Co. For a time he operated the Engeman Brothers Donut Shop at 1620 Main street. His favorite sport was fishing. Mr. Engeman was a member of the First Christian church here. Surviving are Mrs Engeman of the home; two sons, Emmett Engeman, Eugene, Ore., and Francis Engeman, route 4; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Henrietta) Snyder, Atchison; two brothers, Walter Engeman, Hiawatha, and Joe Engeman, Albany, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs Grace Reichle, Cummings, Mrs Ruth Kirkland, Wathena, and Mrs. Opal Henry, Hawarden, IA.; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
