Description	:	Asheville, N.C. - Charles Fullerton Hamrick passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at his residence. Born in Gaffney in 1915, he was the son of the late Waite C. and Florence Martin Hamrick. He graduated from Davidson College in 1936 and was associated in the textile business with Hamrick Mills until 1939 when he joined Hamrick's sales agency, Wilson and Bradbury, in New York City. Read More	Asheville, N.C. - Charles Fullerton Hamrick passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at his residence. Born in Gaffney in 1915, he was the son of the late Waite C. and Florence Martin Hamrick. He graduated from Davidson College in 1936 and was associated in the textile business with Hamrick Mills until 1939 when he joined Hamrick's sales agency, Wilson and Bradbury, in New York City. Mr. Hamrick entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 with service in the Philippine Islands, leaving in 1946 as Lt. (JG). Mr. Hamrick was a resident of New York City for the balance of his textile career, retiring in 1986 and moving his residence to Delray Beach, Fla., where he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. His summer home was in Asheville and in retirement he continued to serve as a director of the Fullerton Foundation and Hamrick Mills. Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Darnell Hamrick, to whom he had been married since 1940; a daughter, Elaine Shields and her husband, Day, and their children, Samantha and Charles; and a daughter, Pamela Hubert and her husband, Dan; and sisters, Florence Hamrick Reaves and Mary Waite Hamrick McLeod. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Waite C. Hamrick Jr. and John Martin Hamrick. The family is at the home in Asheville. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fullerton Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 2208, Gaffney, S.C. 29342-2208; or Mission Healthcare Foundation to benefit the Fullerton Genetics Center, 980 Hendersonville Road, Suite C, Asheville, N.C. 28803-1740.
