His parents were Wenzil and Louise (Rosar) Mikulecky and he was one of eight children. Charles came to MT with his parents in 1912, and they homesteaded in the Black Coulee community 15 miles south of Rudyard. His parents were Wenzil and Louise (Rosar) Mikulecky and he was one of eight children. Charles came to MT with his parents in 1912, and they homesteaded in the Black Coulee community 15 miles south of Rudyard. He helped on the family farm, and during the depression years worked as a logger in the Libby area. Other than that he has lived in the Rudyard community his entire life. He eventually took over the original homestead and purchased more land in the years that followed. On Mar. 2nd, 1926 he married Catherine Janice Clark (who hailed from Crosby, ND). The product of that marriage was 5 children. The Mikuleckys were past members of the Inverness United Methodist Church. Charles a a long-time member of the Hingham Oddfellows Lodge #17. He had been a member of the Farmer's Union, in fact, had been on the board of directors of the Rudyard Co-op. In past years he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, but in more recent years has enjoyed the indoors in front of the television with a good book. In the summer months he busied himself with a nice vegetable garden. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. His personal habit and love was for a good chew of snoose. The Mikuleckys were visiting their daughter in Hawthorne, NV, where he celebrated his 83rd birthday on Jan. 31st. Charles died peacefully at his daughter's home on Sat., Feb 7th. Survivors include his wife, Janice of Rudyard, 3 daughters, Mrs. Tony (Jean) VanRisswick of Ocean Park, WA, Mrs. Shirley Kroshus of Hawthorne, NV, and Mrs. Roy (Joyce) Wapples of Colstrip, 12 grandchildren: 11 great-granchildren, 3 sisters, Frances Habeck of Rudyard, Louise Lustgraaf of Great Falls, and Mary Bonham of Oakland, CA; and many nephews and nieces. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, by a son in infancy, by 2 brothers (Jim and Mark) and by 2 sisters (Alice Brennan and Anna Sylte). Funeral services were held in Rudyard on Thurs., Feb 12th at 2 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Rev. Bill Mullette officiated with the assistance of Rev. Greg Kaiser. Vocalist, Judy Lake, sang "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" (one of Charles' favorites), and Iris White accompanied her on the organ. Pallbearers were Edward Mikulecky, Steven Haas, Anthony VanRisswidk, Roy Wapples, Ralph Sylte and Randy Kroshus. Ushers were Charles and Zane Adams. Members of the Hingham I.O.O.F. serving as honorary bearers included Pat Rathbun, Kamp Landrith, Jake VanWechel, Bob Blake, Pete Rathbun and Alvin Barbie. Burial followed in the Rudyard Cemetery with Rockman Chapel in charge. A luncheon was given to family and friends at the church. A memorial fund will be established to the Liberty County Hospital.
