Description	:	C.K. "Kurt" Finley, 93, prominent Hiawathan, died Friday afternoon, February 17, 1967 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. Mr. Finley had been a patient at the hospital the past six weeks. Charles Kurt Finley was born in Brown County on September 15, 1873, and spent his entire lifetime in this community. "Kurt" Finley, 93, prominent Hiawathan, died Friday afternoon, February 17, 1967 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. Mr. Finley had been a patient at the hospital the past six weeks. Charles Kurt Finley was born in Brown County on September 15, 1873, and spent his entire lifetime in this community. Following a short term of employment with the railroads as a dispatcher and telegrapher, he purchased the "Corner Drug Store: in Hiawatha in 1907, and operated this business until he retired in 1927. "Kurt" was an ardent sportsman until recent years. He thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship with other hunters and golfers, and his ownership of fine hunting dogs. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Abdallah Shrine, and the Hiawatha Methodist Church. Survivors include Mr. Finley's wife, Emma, of the home in Hiawatha, one son, Robert M. Finley of Hiawatha, and one grand-daughter, Miss Kay Finley of Wichita. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning, February 20, at the Meek Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Albert Green officiating. Mrs R.H. Turner was the organist. Pallbearers were John Stoddart, Harry Miller, Chester Ingels, J.P Huckabay, Ewing Herbert and Robert Reynolds, all of Hiawatha. Interment was at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.
