Description	:	Charles Luecke was born Dec. 20, 1904, to John and Minnie (Schulte) Luecke on the family farm near Sullivan. He moved to South Dakota at the age of 21 and worked for various farmers and ranchers in Sully County. He also farmed in partnership with his brother Bill until he bought his own place in 1942. On June 25, 1953, he married Gladys Farries Schmidt. They farmed until 1966 when they retired and moved to Pierre. He died Sunday, June 14, 1992 at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre. He moved to South Dakota at the age of 21 and worked for various farmers and ranchers in Sully County. He also farmed in partnership with his brother Bill until he bought his own place in 1942. On June 25, 1953, he married Gladys Farries Schmidt. They farmed until 1966 when they retired and moved to Pierre. He died Sunday, June 14, 1992 at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre. Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of Pierre; four brothers, Bill of Clear Lake, South Dakota; and Fred, Henry and George, all in Missouri; three sisters, Erma Landwehr, Sophie Vosbrink, and Velma Danza, all in Missouri; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Laura Schaffer, and an infant son. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 18, 1992 by the Rev.
