Died at Loup City, Nebraska November 16, 1918, aged 31 years, 3 months, and 9 days. Death was caused by pneumonia following an attack of Spanish Influenza. He was the eldest son of W. L. and Ida Lambert. His father died when Norton was seven years old. The family lived the first eighteen years of Norton's life at Palmer. He received his schooling there. The family moved for a short time to Texas, where Donald, his younger brother died. This child was buried in Dallas, Texas. For two years Norton attended the high school at Hamburg, Iowa. When he was eighteen years old he came to Loup City and September 10, 1908 he married Miss Edna Grace Daddow. The young couple have made their home in Loup City. They have spent ten years of beautiful life together. There has been much sunshine and a few clouds. Two little children, Donald and Alta have come and gone and one little four year old boy remains, Charles Norton Lambert, Jr. Charles Norton Lambert is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Lambert, a son, Charles Norton, Jr., his mother, Mrs. L. M. Wilson of Faucett, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Jessie Vance of Red Oak, Iowa. There was an infant sister who died at Palmer. He was our friend and he will be sadly missed in the community. His life was spent in allegiance to duty. He was baptised [sic] when eight years old, according to the rites of the Latter Day Saints church. He was faithful and effectionate [sic] in his home. His life was centered in his little family. His death came as a dreadful blow upon the immediate family and as a shock to the whole community. These are dark days in many homes. The whole world is under a cloud of sorrow. It is the sacred sorrow of true love. Funeral services were conducted from the home on Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. V. Bandy officiating. Music was furnished by the Misses Depew. Internment was made in Evergreen cemetery, members of the Home Guard acting as pall bearers. The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their dark hour of sorrow. The Sherman County Times - Nov 21 1918
