ALLISON was born Aug. 24, 1923 in Fairfield, the son of Charles L. and Elizabeth HESTON ALLISON. He lived in Fairfield all of his life, graduated from Fairfield High School, served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II and was employed at Dexter Company for 40 years. He was a member of the Fairfield Fire Department, having served as a chief from 1967 to 1971. He married Florence ANGEL Jan. 19, 1946 in Fairfield. He was a member of First Christian Church and was active in Little League for a number of years. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Beth BROWNLEE, Bonnie ALLISON, both of Fairfield; four grandchildren; two sisters, Eloise KAUSE, Jeanette DUCKWORTH, both of Fairfield, and an aunt, Marie HEGG of Fairfield. --------- "Fairfield Ledger", Thur., Mar. 4, 1971, Pg. 2, Col. 1 Mr. & Mrs. Dick ALLISON married in Fairfield Jan. 19, 1946; parents of two daughters, Mrs. Danny GRINSTEAD of Fairfield and Bonnie at home; they have a granddaughter Tracy GRINSTEAD. "Dick" ALLISON, Fairfield's Fire Chief since 1967, will retire Oct. 1, 1971. His retirement will terminate a family membership on the fire department extending well beyond a half-century. Dick's father, Charles ALLISON, served as a member for 50 years, the last ten as chief, before his retirement in March, 1965. The combined length of service of father and son covers a total period of 71 years, no doubt a record for the Fairfield Fire Department....
