Description	:	Son of Judge Ambrose and Rachael Robins Hutcheson of Green County, Georgia. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Charles R. Hutcheson was married in 1856 to Mary Electra Kimbrough from Greene County, Georgia. After Mary's death, Mr. Hutcheson married widow Emma L. Parrott Williams on Dec 3, 1872. Mr. Hutcheson and wife Emma arrived in Saline County in the early 1880's with their children Jennie B, Lillian, John Thomas and Joseph, and stepson Lennie Williams, the four children from his first marriage, Mollie, Anna, Charles A, and Julia Hutcheson. Also grandparents, Louisa Rowland Kimbrough Wright (1825- 1890's) and Jefferson F. Wright (1822-1890's). Two of Charles R's sisters also came to Saline county. Julia F Hutcheson(1826-1922), married to James Jackson Rowland (1820-1902) and Lucy Carolyn Hutcheson (1828-about 1900), married to John J Rowland (1829-about 1900). After Mr. Hutcheson's death, Emma married Joseph Scott in 1890. Emma died in 1940, at the age of 90. CHILDREN OF FIRST MARRIAGE: Mollie (Mary) Hutcheson (1859-1943) married Mr. James P Smith on January 24th, 1883. They did not have children. The Smith's built their one story home at 510 West Sevier Street in 1885. While they did not have any children of their own, several of their nieces and nephews lived with them, and therefore a second story was added about 12 years later. The house is currently being restored with projected completion at the end of summer 2021. Anna Hutcheson (1861-1923) did not marry. She lived in Benton with her sister Mollie. Charles A Hutcheson (1864-1940) married Mabel Bell Walls (1872-1956). Their daughters (with married names)were Fannie Richards, Irene Maynard Elliott, Anna Bell Howard, and Myra Adams (my Grandmother). Their sons were Albert Richard Hutcheson and Charles Samuel Hutcheson. Julia Irene Hutcheson (1868-1953) married Mr. Edgar Jac Williamson on December 23, 1888, and lived in Benton and lived next door to sister Mollie and JP Smith. She had four daughters: Mary Williamson Gilbert, Emma Perk Williamson, Electra Paulina Williamson, and Elise Williamson Yates. Mary Gilbert had one son, Kenneth Edward Waddie Gilbert. Emma was married for a short time, kept her maiden name, no children. Electra died at age 8. Elise had one son, Bo. Julia had two sons who died in infancy, Ralph Jeff (1892-1993) and Felix Edgar (1895-?) All four of these Hutcheson are siblings are buried in Old Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. CHILDREN OF SECOND MARRIAGE: Joseph M Hutcheson (1875-1927) moved to Athens, Texas in the early 1900's. He married Lucy Dickerson and they had five children. John Thomas Hutcheson (1876-1911) All census reports show him as single. Jennie B Hutcheson (1878 – 1896) married JW Scott in June 1895, and died in Sept 1895. No children. According to records of Salem United Methodist Church, she was "burned to death". Lillian Hutcheson (1882-1969) lived in Benton, worked at the post office, then later at the courthouse. She was the first woman to ever be elected to a county office as circuit clerk in the mid 1920's. She never married. CHILD OF EMMA PARROTT WILLIAMS HUTCHESON SCOTT: Lenoard E Williams (1867 – 1934) married Mollie Ann Kinney; they had six children. NOTE: Charles R. Hutcheson, Emma L. Scott, John Thomas Hutcheson, Jennie B. Scott and Lillian Hutcheson, Len E. and Mollie Williams are all buried in Scott Cemetery located on Congo Road in Saline County. Joseph M Hutcheson is buried in Athens Cemetery, Athens, Henderson County, Texas. CIVIL WAR Charles R. Hutcheson served the Confederacy during the War of Northern Aggression. He served as a private, in Company C, 9th Georgia State Guards, C.S.A. He was in the same unit as his brother-in-law James J. Rowland. He enlisted 20 July 1863, at Greensboro, Ga. for 6 months. He was with ". . . Capt. Rowan H. Ward's company for local defence, to serve in the 4th, 5th, and 6th Congressional districts with the additon of the addition of the counties of Fulton and DeKalb." He was present on all muster rolls.
