Ewing Funeral Nov. 28 Charles Roger Ewing, the son of Lloyd and Margaret McElhaney Ewing was born February 14, 1917, at Olathe, Ks. He died November 25, 1994, at the Nicol Home in Glasco, Ks., at the age of 77 years. In 1923, Roger moved with his family to Quinter, Ks., where he grew up and attended school. He became associated with the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Quinter and furthered his education at Sterling College. Roger was a cowboy farmer and rancher near Quinter and later near Wakeeney for many years and also operated a fertilizer plant at Wakeeney. He loved to break horses and do welding in his shop. Music was one of his favorite pastimes and he loved to play the organ and guitar. His grandchildren were very special to him and he greatly enjoyed time spent with them. After his retirement, Roger moved to Missouri and later to Fall River, Ks., before moving to Glasco in 1986. He was married to Shirley Stortz McGinnis on February 6, 1987, at Hebron, Neb., and the couple made their home in Glasco. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Shirley of the home; a daughter, Judy fabrizius and her husband Gene of Wakeeney; two brothers and their wives, Dean and Mildred Ewing of Augusta, Ks., and John and Jane Ewing of Bella Vista, AR; a sister, Mary Wilson and her husband Duane of Crescent, IA; a brother-in-law, James Mann of Quinter; two granddaughters, Rebecca Karlin and her husband Mark and Julie Fabrizius; and a great-granddaughter, Candace Karlin of Aurora, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur Ewing; and a sister, Thelma Mann. Officiating was Intern Betty Stedman, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Organist was Irma Ethride. Casket Bearers were Max Ernsbarger, Fred Neff, K.C. Spaeth, Darrell Stortz, Olin Stortz, and Robert Stortz. Interment, Glasco Cemetery.
