Read More	MOSS, CHARLES T. C. –Charles T. C. Moss was born February 10, 1887, in Nuckolls county, near Angus, Neb., to Luther and Mary Jane Vore Moss, being one of five children. He passed away quietly in his sleep during the early morning of Monday, December 19, 1977, at Heritage of Geneva at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 8 days. February 9, 1910, he was united marriage to Edna E. Hattan of near Edgar, Neb., at Nelson, Neb., making the trip by horse and buggy. Mrs. Moss passed away August 13, 1976. To this union were born two children, a daughter, Lena (Mrs. Ray Autrey) of Grand Island, Neb., and a son, Clyde Moss of Kimball, Neb. Following their marriage, they resided a year at Angus, Neb., where Mr. Moss was section foreman for the Burlington railroad. On March 1, 1911, the couple moved to Geneva, where Mr. Moss continued with the railroad until his retirement August 24, 1947, after serving 37 ½ years. His forced retirement was the result of a ruptured heart muscle suffered while on the railroad. However, he continued working at odd jobs for several years. Upon his wife’s death, Mr. Moss continued to reside in his home until he entered the Fillmore County hospital Tuesday, November 15, 1977, as the result of a fall at his home. This was the first time during his 90 years he had ever been hospitalized. He had resided in Geneva for over 66 years, 61 of which having been spent in his present home. Mr. Moss was a member of the Geneva United Methodist church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher for several years, and took part in other official duties of the church. He read the Bible in its entirety three times. He was a past noble grand of the Geneva chapter of the Odd Fellow lodge, and was presented a 25-year membership pin in 1976. He also was a member of the Sociables. He took great pride in being a part of organizing the West Side Improvement club, of which he was its first president. Mr. Moss lived a very quiet and simple life, although he always enjoyed being with people and his many friends. He attended church and lodge regularly as long as it was possible. He was known for his sincerity and sense of humor. He and Mrs. Moss had the rare privilege of celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary, the 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries being special occasions. In addition to his two children, he is survived by a son-in-law, Ray Autrey of Grand Island, and a daughter-in-law, Avona Moss of Kimball; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Rosa Wright of Bird City, Kas. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 1977, at the Farmer & son funeral home in Geneva. Music was provided by Miss Susan Najmon, who sang “Ivory Palaces”, “How Great Thou Art” and “In the Garden”, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Norval Lomax. Pallbearers were Roger Niemann and William Itzen of Lincoln, Charles Moss of Boston, Mass., Mervin Leonard, Ed Franzen, Paul Shaner and Harold Sole, all of Geneva, and Carm Ross of Grand Island.
