Description	:	Wes came to Alberta to homestead in the early 1900's, along with his brothers, Bert and Jesse, and his sister, Mattie and her husband Irv Barber. Wes's homestead was in Section 12-41-17W4, the Science Mound District, near Donalda. By 1918 Wes was married to Minnie Wilson, and they were living in Yale, Payne County, Oklahoma, per his WWI Draft Registration card. At that time Wes was working as a Stillman at a refinery of the Pawnee Oil Company. Wes and Minnie's children were both born in Oklahoma, David about 1911, and Maxcine in 1918. Jones Passed away June 4 ---------- Charles Wesley Jones, son of John and Electa Jones, was born April 27, 1882, at Richmond, Wisconsin, and passed away at the farm home south of Allen on June 4, 1959, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 7 days. When a lad, he came with his parents to Kansas and at the age of 19 was united in marriage to Minnie Wilson. To this union a son, David, and daughter, Maxcine, was born. In 1936 he was married to Bessie Sherbondy, moving to this community in 1947. He is survived by his wife, Bessie, son, David Jones, of Pecos, Texas; the daughter, Maxcine and husband, Terry Johnson, of Long Beach, California, four grandchildren; step son Wilbur Sherbondy and family; two brothers, Arthur or Waterford, California, Jess of Donalda, Alberta, Canada; one sister, Miss Bess Jones; other relatives and friends. Wes was known everywhere as a good home maker and held in high regard by everyone who knew him. Memorial services were held Sunday, June 7, in the Kill Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Calvin Hartman officiating. Among those attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Terry Johnson, Long Beach, California, Mr. David Jones, Pecos, Texas, Mrs. Gladys Jordon and Mrs. Mabel Brown, Beloit, Mr. and Mrs. Rube Burger, Cawker City, Gary Quillen, Downs, and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cooper, Osborne. ************** Services were held at Kill Creek Presbyterian Church Sunday morning for Wesley Jones, who died of a heart attack Thursday.
