Description	:	Mr. Charles William Theodore “Ted” Easterday passed away Friday afternoon, June 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born Saturday, September 21, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to Charles and Dolly (Cranmer) Easterday. When Ted was nine years old, the family moved to Butte where he was raised and educated. Read More	Mr. Charles William Theodore “Ted” Easterday passed away Friday afternoon, June 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born Saturday, September 21, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to Charles and Dolly (Cranmer) Easterday. When Ted was nine years old, the family moved to Butte where he was raised and educated. In 1987 he earned his bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety from Montana Tech, graduating with honors. He and Eldora Ballensky were united in marriage here in Butte in 1961 and together they raised three children. Ted was a member of the Nazarene Church for many years, was a biblical scholar and loved to share the scriptures. He worked several jobs throughout his career including as a foreman for Parson’s during the construction of the Clyde E. Weed Concentrator, worked at S.J. Perry, was a substitute teacher and welding teacher for the Butte School District, worked for the Anaconda Company as a machinist and welder, worked as a Corrections Officer at the Montana State Prison and was a highly respected private investigator and an expert firearms witness for Ruger. He loved guns and gun shows. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting when he was able, and was a fountain of knowledge on many topics especially when involving the scriptures. Later in life, he loved meeting his friends and family at McDonald’s for coffee, and more often than not, an ice cream sundae. He is survived by his wife, Eldora Easterday, daughter, Alice de Chelley and her partner Hank Richter, sons, Philip Easterday and Paul Easterday all of Butte, grandchildren, Amber Easterday, Tiffany Boudreax, Genny Easterday, Jacob Easterday and Michael Beal. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, his sister and brother-in-law, June and Wendall Sinn of Deer Park, Washington, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Eddy Ballensky, Mabel and Bernie Ferch, LeRoy and Doris Ballensky, Gail and Pete Andrich, Jeanette Boyd, Gary and Denise Ballensky and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, David Sheline. Published by Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home, Butte, MT
