The funeral was held in Ada, Thursday. (also), page 8: Obituary --- Mrs. Prior Charlotte White was born in Chard, England, on August 12, 1852, and passed away at her home in Ada on Nov. 16, 1926, aged seventy-four years, three months, and four days. She came to the united States with her parents at the age of sixteen years. While in England she became a member of the Church of England. She was married to Melvyn VanDerwerken on Sept. 13, 1871, and to this union was born one girl ---- now Mrs. Alice Converse of Scott City, Kans. Her husband died in February 1875 and in the spring of 1876 she came from Missouri to Ottawa county, Kansas. On March 24, 1878, she was united in marriage to Alfred Prior. To this union were born four children, James, John, Alfred, Jr., and Mrs. Coleman Parsons, all of this county. Besides these, she leaves to mourn her loss: her husband; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D.T. Burress at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon Nov. 17, and her body was laid to rest in the Ada cemetery.
