Mr. Mills was born January 24, 1911 in Victoria Township, the son of Fred and Alberta Neary Mills. He was married to Esther Lary January 9, 1935. Chester lived his entire life in Cass County. Mr. Mills was born January 24, 1911 in Victoria Township, the son of Fred and Alberta Neary Mills. He was married to Esther Lary January 9, 1935. Chester lived his entire life in Cass County. He attended Massena High School and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Massena. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Ethel, and a sister, Mrs. Zelma Shields. Surviving are his widow, Esther; a son Lary of Massena; two grandsons, Matthew and Charles; three brothers, Earl of Cumberland and Harold and Davis of Massena; four sisters, Miss Marian Mills and Mrs. Lavina Gibbons, both of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Alice Bowers of Bridgewater, and Mrs. Ruth Mace of Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 14 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Massena, with Rev. James Wadsworth officiating. Music selections were offered by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Casey, with Mrs. Glen Spieker as organist. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stakey and Mr. and Mrs. Harry DeVore were in charge of flowers. Casket bearers were Don Curry, Kenneth Waters, Norman Anstey, Pat Bowers, Donald Erickson, and John Lary. Interment was in the Victoria Center Cemetery.
