He passed away November 6, 1988 at Oakland Manor in Oakland, Iowa. He was 88 years, 4 months and 24 days. Harold attended Victoria country school and Massena High School. He was united in marriage to Hazel Edwards January 12, 1921. To this union two children were born: Lois and Richard. On June 13, 1973, Harold married Hildred Penton. Harold was active in farming most of his life and was a hared worker. He enjoyed his livestock and took very good care of them. Harold enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives and playing cards and bingo. He always looked forward to the days they played bingo at the nursing home. He loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; son, Richard; parents, Fred and Alberta Mills; four sisters; three brothers and one stepson, Don Penton. He is survived by his wife Hildred of Massena, Iowa; daughter Lois McConeghey and husband Jim of Oakland, Iowa; four grandchildren, John and Kevin McConeghey, Stephanie Behrens and Cheryl Waggoner; four great-grandchildren; four step children, Virgil Penton and wife Phyllis, Virginia Barnholdt and husband Jack all of Massena, Iowa Lois Campidilli and husband Fred of Lehigh, Iowa and Sue Brosom of Atlantic, Iowa; eighteen step-grandchildren; twenty-one step great grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Mills and Lavina Gibbons and husband Him all of Chevy Chase, Maryland; many other relatives and friends. The family of Harold Mills wishes to express their gratitude for all acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow and invites you to share in a luncheon served at St. Patrick's Catholic Church following services at the cemetery.
