Description	:	MASSENA - Fred Mils, 81, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Chester Mills, southwest of Massena, where he had gone with his brother, Chester, of Cumberland to watch corn husking. In his usual jovial spirit he was joking about how he took off the shucks in his younger years when a sudden heart attack prostrated him. Read More	MASSENA - Fred Mils, 81, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Chester Mills, southwest of Massena, where he had gone with his brother, Chester, of Cumberland to watch corn husking. In his usual jovial spirit he was joking about how he took off the shucks in his younger years when a sudden heart attack prostrated him. Born Ocotober 16, 1872, in Marion county near Knoxville, he moved to the farm now owned by Leon Jensen when a young lad. His parents were Levi and Hannah Mills. He was married to Bertha Neary Feb. 24, 1897, and the couple farmed for many years in Victoria township, retiring about ten years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at open house. Mrs. Mills passed away March 19, 1950, also of a heart attack. Surviving are four sons, Harold of Massena, Earl of Cumberland, Chester and Davis of Massena; and four daughters, Mrs. Alice Bower, Bridgewater; Miss Marian Mills of Washington, D.C., Mrs John Mace of Omaha and Mrs. James Gibbons of Chevy Chase, Md.; 30 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Chester Mills of Cumberland. Two daughters preceded him in death, Ethel died in childhood and Mrs. Zelma Shields in January, 1940. Mrs. Bernice Krauth, a niece, had lived in the Mills home since Mrs. Mills' death. Funeral rites will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Massena; burial will be in the Victoria township cemetery.
