She was born Oct. 8, 1902, to Charlie and Allie (Cross) Boyer in Appanoose County about eight miles north of Centerville. She married Olin Foster on June 22, 1924. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Van Antwerp; two sisters, Goldie Weston Sutcliffe and Opal Burns, and her parents. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Van Antwerp; two sisters, Goldie Weston Sutcliffe and Opal Burns, and her parents. Survivors include her son, Charles Rex of R.R.3 , Bloomfield; two sisters, Sylvia Burns and Lola Gorden of Centerville; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She lived her entire life in Appanoose County until March of 1990, when she made her home with her son due to ill health. She had been a resident of Bloomfield Care Center since September of 1991. She was saved at the Darby Church, and was baptized at the Rock Ripple north of Rathbun. She was a member of the Main Station Fairview Methodist Church. She played the piano for church services for many years and she and her husband, Olin, sang at the Centerville Care Center and Golden Age Nursing Home with the 18-80 Club until ill health prevented. She was also a member of the 18-80 Club and went on trips with them. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Griffin and the Rev. Richard Brown officiating. Burial was in the Main Station Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the 18-80 Club and may be left at Lange Funeral Home, which was in charge of arrangements.
