He was born to Henry C. and Ella McCann Foster Oct. 31, 1901,in Appanoose County about 10 miles north of Centerville. On June 22, 1924, he was married to Chloa Elvira Boyer at the First Methodist Church parsonage in Centerville. Read More	Moravia Union, May 13, 1987 OLIN FOSTER James Olin Foster, 85, died the evening of May 6, 1987, at St.Joseph Mercy Hospital, Centerville, Iowa. He was born to Henry C. and Ella McCann Foster Oct. 31, 1901,in Appanoose County about 10 miles north of Centerville. On June 22, 1924, he was married to Chloa Elvira Boyer at the First Methodist Church parsonage in Centerville. They lived on the home place until they were forced to move due to the building of Rathbun Lake. He loved to go to church. When he was young he would walk with his family to Darby in the morning, go back home for dinner, then return to Main Station in the afternoon for Sunday School. Then back home to do the chores, back to Darby for night service , then back home—walking over nine miles for a full day Sunday. He was saved in June 1937 during a revival meeting held by Rev. Luther W. Childs. He attended church regularly until illness kept him from going. He was a member of the Main Station Fairview Methodist Church. He worked in coal mines in Appanoose County for over 20 years, and farmed and drove a school bus. Survivors include his wife, one son, Charles Rex of Bloomfield, three grandchildren, Gary and Terry Foster of Bloomfield and Mary Carr, four great grandchildren, Kari Kay and Kelli Diane Carr and Shawna Joy and Brett Allen Foster. He is also survived by two sisters; Leona, (Mrs. John Eaton), Centerville and Osie (Mrs. Claud Wren), Indianola, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Betty Jean Van Antwerp : one sister Leota (Mrs. Forest Mericle ) and one brother. Odis. He was a member of the United Mine Workers and the 18-80 Ciub in Centerville. Olin loved to sing. He and Chloa sang at the Centerville Care Center and the Golden Age Nursing Home with the 18-80 Club until ill health prevented him. He loved to travel and enjoyed going on trips with the 18-80 Club. Burial was at Main Station.
