Description	:	OBITUARY-- After months of illness death came to Chris Halla, 53 year old farmer, well known throughout this part of the state, Easter Sunday morning at his farm home just north of the state hospital. Born at Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway, August 19, 1878, he lived in Norway until his eighth year when his parents with their family came to Yankton county, Dakota Territory, and this has been his home continuously since. Read More	OBITUARY-- After months of illness death came to Chris Halla, 53 year old farmer, well known throughout this part of the state, Easter Sunday morning at his farm home just north of the state hospital. Born at Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway, August 19, 1878, he lived in Norway until his eighth year when his parents with their family came to Yankton county, Dakota Territory, and this has been his home continuously since. Farming has been Mr. Halla's chosen work since boyhood and he was known as a hard and conscientious worker. He had a wide acquaintance throughout the county and was esteemed as a good neighbor and dependable friend. He was married to Anna Hanson at Sioux City, May 10, 1916. About a year ago he was forced to give up active work because of illness and about eight months ago upon being examined at the Mayo Hospital in Rochester, it was discovered he was the victim of cancer in advanced stage. His courage and patience since learning of his true condition and the inevitability of the end have been remarkable. He leaves his wife and two children, Mildred, aged 13, and John, aged 10. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Louis Levison, Viborg, and Mrs. Harry Fisk, Kansas City, and four brothers, Carl, Washington, D.C.; Theodore, of Thunderhawk, S.D.; Henry, Tyndall; and Conrad, of Yankton county. Chris Halla was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of the board of trustees and was serving at present as deacon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the home and at 2:30 o'clock from Trinity Lutheran church. Rev. Ole M. Odland conducting the service.
