Description	:	OBITUARY-- Feb. 11, 1959 Conrad Halla Is Summoned Today Rites Saturday Conrad Halla, 70, a well-known Yankton county farmer, died at Sacred Heart Hospital at 1:55 a.m. today after an illness of almost five years. Death came from a cerebral hemorrhage suffered at the farm home north of Yankton Monday night. He had been a semi-invalid since suffering his first stroke in April of 1954. Mr. Halla, born January 30, 1889 lived almost his entire lifetime in Yankton county. For 18 months he resided on a homestead at Eagle Butte, S. Dak. His parents were Mathias and Martha Halla, pioneer South Dakotans. Survivors include the widow, Selma, three sons, Ralph of Sacramento, Calif; Harvey of Yankton, and Stanley of Sioux Falls; one brother Col. Carl Halla, Northridge, Calif. and one sister, Mrs. Harry Fisk, Kansas City, Mo. and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Evelyn, Mrs. Waldo K. Anderson, four brothers, Theodore, Chris, Henry and Evan, and one sister, Mrs. Jenny Levison. Arrangements had been made for funeral services to be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Schenk chapel, with the Rev. C. Gerald Lygre of Trinity Lutheran church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening between 7 and 9 o'clock. Interment is to be made in Vangen cemetery at Mission Hill.
