Read More	Mrs. C. G. Stickford The sudden death of Mrs. C. G. Stickford has cast a gloom of sorrow upon our community. Mrs. Stickford was just recovering from her late confinement and appeared to be in the best of spirits. On Saturday morning, October 20, 1894, she dressed and was bathing her infant daughter. Feeling suddenly indisposed, she requested to be led to bed. A messenger was at once dispatched for a physician, but before the later could arrive, she expired in the arms of her husband, with the parting admonition to take good care of the children. Mrs. Christina Stickford nee Hanenberger, was born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, May 15th, 1868, and thus aged 36 yrs., 5 mo., 6 days. In her infancy she moved with her parents to Eyota, Minn., where April 2, 1879, she was married to C. G. Stickford, and with him moved to her home here. She was the mother of 12 children; 9 boys and 3 girls, of whom Henry the oldest is only 17 years of age, and the youngest scarcely two weeks. Her remains were buried at the new Cemetery, on Tuesday afternoon, October 23, followed by immense concourse of sorrowing friends from far and near. Peace be to her ashes, and may the Friend of the motherless be with the orphans who have lost their all, their mother. A pathetic ceremony was the baptism of the youngest daughter of C G Stickford. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Gammelein previous to the obsequies of Mrs. Stickford in the same room in which the remains of the mother lay prepared for the tomb.
