Read More	Blakely Funeral Home and Crematory obituary Chapin, S.C. - On Monday, December 28, 2020, Christine Funderburk Crosby, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 97. Christine was born on January 21, 1923 in Lancaster County, South Carolina to Dr. David Hyder Funderburk and Linnie P Baucom McManus. Christine attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina and was a faithful servant of Christ and supporter of her church. While so many things could be said of her love and dedication to her family, the most important thing to her was her families’ relationship and service to Jesus Christ. She was a Proverbs 31 woman where it details the attributes of a good wife and ideal woman. Though a beautiful woman inside and out, and a wonderful cook that could whip together something delicious in just a few minutes, she wanted to be a woman who honored God and was not concerned with worldly adornment. Her entire life was practicing at making the life of her husband better, teaching her children and serving God. Because of this, “Her children arise and call her blessed.” So we “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Harry Ellis Crosby, in 2009, and her ten siblings, William, George, Della Kate, David, Jack, Sally, Mary, Amy, Nathan, and Butler Funderburk. She is survived by her son, Harry William Crosby (Wanda), and daughter, Lennie Crosby Tucker (Jack); 1 grandson, Will Crosby (Emily); 3 granddaughters, Kelly Heyniger, Amy McWatty, Linsay Rohr (Paul); and 8 great–grandchildren Briggs Heyniger, Bree Heyniger, Reed Crosby, Bella McWatty, Cannon Rohr, Charlie Rohr, Crosby Rohr, Ellis Crosby. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, 986 Chesnee Highway, Gaffney, S.C. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Social distancing and masks are requested. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church (204 W O’Neal St.; Gaffney, S.C. 29340) or to East Gaffney Baptist Church (2308 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, S.C. 29340).
