Description	:	Christopher Heinrich Helberg was born Nov. 11,1833. Son of C H and Mary Helberg. He came to America in 1848 with his parents and siblings and they settled in Henry County Ohio. He married Anna Katherina Drewes on Nov 17,1865 in Henry County Ohio. Christopher enlisted in the 68th Regiment Ohio Volunteers Infantry Oct 15,1861. He took part in the seige of Vicksberg, battle of Atlanta, and marched with Sherman to Atlanta. He was wounded and the ball was never extracted . He came to America in 1848 with his parents and siblings and they settled in Henry County Ohio. He married Anna Katherina Drewes on Nov 17,1865 in Henry County Ohio. Christopher enlisted in the 68th Regiment Ohio Volunteers Infantry Oct 15,1861. He took part in the seige of Vicksberg, battle of Atlanta, and marched with Sherman to Atlanta. He was wounded and the ball was never extracted . When he returned home he bought his 1st farm 102 acreas, the deed being signed by the Governor of the state John Brough on March 7, 1865. Her then bought anouther 40 acreas of land on March 31st 1870 and the deed being signed by Gov. Rutherford B Hayes. Christopher was one of the directors of the Napoleon Fair Company. Christopher and Anna were blessed with a family of 10 Children. William, John , Mary, Ida, Minnie, Emma, Anna, George. Sophia , and Amelia. Christopher departed this life on Oct 10,1903 at the age of 69. Anna departed this life on Jly 27,1919 at the age of 71. They are both resting in the St Pauls Lutheran Cem Napoleon Twp Henry County, Ohio. This information was shared with me by my wonderful cousin Dora Helberg Gericke (may she rest in peace) Knowing I am still working on the family lines and think of her everyday,and I miss her very much.
