Description	:	Clara D. Overfelt, age 95, of Great Falls, died on Monday, September 27, 1999, of natural causes. Clara was born August 17, 1904, near Moi, Norway, and immigrated to the United States with her parents, Oscar and Anna Drivdahl, in 1908, settling at Melville, where her parents were early-day pioneers and settlers engaged in the raising of sheep. She married Leo Overfelt in 1922 and ranched in the Big Timber area until 1945, at which time they moved to Great Falls. Overfelt, age 95, of Great Falls, died on Monday, September 27, 1999, of natural causes. Clara was born August 17, 1904, near Moi, Norway, and immigrated to the United States with her parents, Oscar and Anna Drivdahl, in 1908, settling at Melville, where her parents were early-day pioneers and settlers engaged in the raising of sheep. She married Leo Overfelt in 1922 and ranched in the Big Timber area until 1945, at which time they moved to Great Falls. Clara was one of the founding members of the Montana Cowgirls Association, a former president, and inducted into the National Cowgirls Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City in 1992. She was a member of the First Methodist church in Great Falls and enjoyed church activities, gardening, cooking, poetry, fishing, and grandchildren. She loved animals. Her husband Leo died in 1980. Survivors included two sons, Dr. Marvin Overfelt and wife Charlene of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Clarence Overfelt and wife Allyce of Great Falls; a daughter-in-law, Donna Mae Overfelt of Billings; a sister, Margaret Plaggemeyer of Big Timber; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, attorney Lee Overfelt of Billings. Services were held Thursday, September 30- at the First Congregational Church in Big Timber with burial in Mountain View cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the donor's choice are preferred.
