Margaret left this world as she lived her life, with grace, style, and dignity. Margaret was a true "Lady". Margaret Norma 'Margie' Drivdahl was born March 10, 1919 at the Oskar Drivdahl place on Sweet Grass Creek. She grew up there along with her six older siblings and a younger brother. She attended school at the Crum School and on to high school in Big Timber. She married Harry Plaggemeyer on January 3, 1942. They took up ranching on a place about 12 miles north of Big Timber. While on the ranch they became parents of four children: Judy, Joan, Dan and Carol Plaggemeyer. Margaret was widowed in 1958 and moved to town where she worked several jobs including Nicholson Market and T & M Market. She was employed by Sweet Grass County in 1963 as a deputy Clerk & Recorder. Later, in 1964, Margaret went into the Treasurer's office as Deputy until 1966. Margaret ran successfully for the office of Clerk & Recorder. She held this office for two terms. In 1974, Margaret was elected County Treasurer and served until 1983. Margaret was always willing to learn something new. She taught herself how to weave and spin. She spun and dyed her own wool and created beautiful rugs and tapestries. Margaret was a self taught bee keeper. She took painting classes, gardened, bowled, knitted, and crocheted. She loved to play cards at the Senior Center and did especially well when she partnered with Nat Clark. Margaret was well read. Her library was extensive, covering many various topics. She loved to read and write poetry and had a strong interest in politics. Margaret was a founding member of Willit Gro Garden Club and the Crazy Mountain Museum. She was a member of Trio Club, Legion auxiliary, Homeland Circle, and anything Nora Hanson would talk her into. Margaret was very strong in her faith which was portrayed by the grace with which she lived. She loved coffee, morels, and lefse. She was known for her Sandbakkles and Lemon meringue pie. She loved her children, her grand children and her great grand children. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Harry Plaggemeyer, her parents, Oskar and Anna Drivdahl, brothers; Louie, Emil L Drivdahl> Gerald Drivdahl> Oscar "Okie" Drivdahl> sister's Agnes O. Drivdahl> Minnie J. Drivdahl> She is survived by her children, Judy Plaggemeyer, Joan (Jon) VanDaveer, Dan (Diana) Plaggemeyer, all of Big Timber, and Carol Schriver of Juneau, Alaska. Her sister-in- law Millie Drivdahl of Dillon, Montana, 10 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and all those who called her "MOM". Viewing will be from 3-9pm Wednesday April 16 at Stenberg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday April 17 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery.
