Description	:	Clara Laurilla Harper was born near Hallam, Nebr., April 2, 1877, the oldest daughter of Henry H. and Sarah (Uplinger) Silver. She being the last survivor of ten children. She attended the local schools, also a dress designing school at Hastings, Nebr. During her young womanhood she taught sewing and dress designing, taught country school and worked in children's institutions. February 15, 1905 she was united in marriage to John Fredrick Harper at Lincoln Nebr.,who survives her passing. To this union three children were born; Kirby William of Beatrice who passed away Sunday morning. July 27 at 11:30 A.M.; Mrs. William (Ruth) Oltman, Clare, Ill., Mrs. Ed (Joyce) Mohrhoff, Lincoln. Her survivors also include five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. and Mrs. Harper resided on the Harper farm, west of Adams until 1909 when they moved to Lincoln in retirement. Mrs. Harper was an active and long time member of the Grandview Baptist Church west of Adams, later transferring her membership to the Adams Presbyterian church. Mrs. Harper was a charter member of the Adams Helping Hand Club. Last February Mr. and Mrs. Harper were privileged to celebrate their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary. She passed away 3:30 P.M. Saturday, July 28, 1969, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 26 days at the Crete Nursing Home where she resided since April 1968, after falling and breaking her hip and arm. Funeral services will be held at 2:p.m. Tuesday at the Adams Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Lawrence Williams officiating. Internment will be in Highland Cemetery, Adams.
