Description	:	Clara O. Buchheim, 99, Topeka, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at a Topeka hospital. Mrs. Buchheim retired from Sears in Glendale, Calif., in 1966. She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, during which she was stationed in Manila in the Philippine Islands and worked as a staff sergeant in the Army Postal Service. She was born Nov. 21, 1903, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Fred Carl Spahn and Emma Eckhardt Spahn. She graduated from Oklahoma City High School and attended business college. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. Mrs. Buchheim will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey- Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Circle Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Topeka and sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence, 66044.
