On June 8, 1911, she was united in marriage to E. C. Naylor and this vicinity was their home the greater part of their married life. Read More	Stratford Courier February 29, 1940 Obituary Mrs. E. C. Naylor Clare Elaine Owen Naylor, daughter of Reuben and Ruth Ann (Bradley) Owen, was born Jan. 25, 1880 at Tipton. On June 8, 1911, she was united in marriage to E. C. Naylor and this vicinity was their home the greater part of their married life. Three children were born to them, namely: Max Naylor of Fort Dodge; Ruth Naylor, a student in Iowa State college, Ames; and Luella, at home. She was graduated from the Tipton high school and from the Iowa State Teachers college, Cedar Falls, of the latter institution preparing herself for teaching school, following this profession for several years previous to her marriage. She took an active part in the Alpha class of the Methodist Sunday school and in the church of which she was a member. Her family and home were her first interests, but she also found time to devote to worthwhile community activities. Her home was the center of numerous home projects, 4-H work and other types of Farm Bureau work. She loyally supported the W.C.T.U. and served as chairman and secretary of the local unit during its organization. Following a brief illness she passed from her earthly home on Feb. 22, 1940, at the age of 60 years, 28 days. Left to mourn her are her husband and three children and a sister, Miss Myrtle Owen, of Tipton. Her parents, five brothers and sisters have preceded her in death. Mrs. Naylor will be very greatly missed by her friends and neighbors but she will always be remembered for her cheerfulness, her kindnesses and her willingness to help those who needed help. Last rites were conducted on Sunday, Feb. 25, with a prayer service in the home at 1:30 o'clock, followed at 2 o'clock by a service in the Methodist church. In the home, George Harrison sang a tenor solo, being accompanied by Mrs. Harrison. In the church a ladies quartet, Mesdames Harold Bass, Dennis Iles, F.W. Miller and George Peterson, sang two selections. Mrs. Bass sang "Perfect Day" as a solo, Mrs. George Harrison playing the accompaniments. Interment was made in Oakwood cemetery. The pallbearers were: Fred Patterson, B.E. Patterson, Axel Olson, E.H. Hawbaker, J.R. Coulter, M.E. Pomeroy.
