Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon last week from the Methodist church in Marathon with Rev. Egeland officiating. Nelson Funeral Home was in charge. Relatives from out of town here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Orin Garton of Lincoln, Nebr; Mr. and Mrs. John Powell, Pomeroy; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Carlson of Linn Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Anderson and Shelley of Alta; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Woodford, Morgan, Minn.; LeRoy Woodford, Redwood Falls, Minn.; Mrs. Burges Young, Redwood Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carlson of Peterson; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Garton of Greenville; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Johnson, Terril; Mrs. Carson Francis, Rembrandt; Mrs. Hans Stelling, Mrs. Glenn Carlson, Mrs. Kenneth Schuller, Storm Lake. Mrs. Douglas Morilon, Noel and Melody of Hillsboro, Ore., and Mrs. Daryl Powell and Randy of Fullerton, Calif., sisters of the deceased, came by plane Sunday and are staying for sometime in the Garton home.
