Description	:	Last Rites for Clarence CLARK on Saturday Funeral services for Clarence CLARK, retired carpenter, will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gass Funeral Home Chapel. He was 84. The Rev. J. Alan Justad of the First United Methodist Church will officiate, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. The body is lying in state at the Gass Funeral Home today & Saturday until the hour of service. Mr. Clark, an 80 year citizen of Platte county, died of a coronary Wednesday evening at his home at 2316 - 18th St. He was born 22 June 1872, in Ottawa, Ill. & came to Nebraska with his parents, Augustus & Elizabeth (WESTCOTT) CLARK, at the age of 4. They lived on a farm north of Columbus for several years, moving into Columbus when Mr. Clark was a young man. Here he worked as a photographer, at the Fennell Photo Studio, a candymaker for Petsch's Candy Shop, & as a mechanic for Nichols Garage before becoming a carpenter. On 9 July 1902, Mr. Clark & the former Evalena C. CURTIS were married in Columbus. Soon after, Mr. Clark served his apprenticeship in carpentry & cabinet making with the Lund Planing Mill. He worked as a carpenter & cabinetmaker until 1951, when he retired because of poor health. Mr. Clark enjoyed hobbies of photography, hunting, fishing & marksmanship. He was a member of the Federated Church. He is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. Don (Gladys) FRENCH of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Edward M. (Dorothy) RAGATZ of Lincoln, Ne.; 1 son, Milton D. CLARK of Pomona, Calif. & 8 grandchildren. Other survivors are 2 brothers, Eugene CLARK of Columbus & Otis CLARK of Stromsberg & 1 sister, Mrs. Albert (Myrtle) ABELL of Baker, Ore. 3 sisters, Fannie, Addie & Hazel CLARK & a brother, Gustave CLARK, preceded him in death. source: Columbus Telegram 4 Aug. 1961
