There are conflicting versions of the birth date and age at death for Clarence, but based on a review of source materials by this contributor on March 8, 2017, it now appears that the correct DOB was for July 29, 1908, with the birth taking place in Jefferson county, Iowa. The birth location was at least in Jefferson county - whether or not more specifically in Libertyville within Jefferson county is not specified in the birth record. The primary sources for that date is the Jefferson county birth record and the birth notice found published in the Fairfield Tribune. Because they were entered/published most contemporary to when he was born they should be considered the most reliable sources in this situation, especially due to the lack of a headstone/inscription. It should be noted that per his obituary, Clarence lost his eyesight when he was very young, so any family information about him that was obtained/reported upon his death on July 11, 1934 at the Jefferson county hospital has to now be considered with some caution. Clarence Vance Bonnett) Clarence Nance Bonnett (sic), youngest son of Dan and Maggie Bonnett was born July 29, 1909* near Libertyville, in Jefferson county, Iowa. He died July 11, 1934 at the age of 23 years, 11 months and 11 days*. At the age of 20 months by an unavoidable accident lost his eyesight. Although is caused him a great deal of sufferig (sic. suffering) he bore it with a smile and a kind word to everyone. He leaves his loving parents and also three sisters and three brothers to mourn his departure. The brothers and sisters are: Mrs. Hattie Williams and Mrs. Lessie Yerion of Fairfield, Ira Bonnett at home, Harry Bonnett of Springfield, Ohio and Mrs. Lottie Lowe of Richmond, Indiana. The funeral was held at Campbell's funeral home Friday 13, at 2:00 o'clock. He was buried at Evergreen cemetery. The pallbearers were: Lester Bonnett, Ira Bonnett, Harry Bonnett, Fred Williams, Milton Yerion and Birdell Lowe. The singers were: Mrs. H. P. Campbell and Bernice Behner.
