Description	:	Clerenda Mathews Skidmore Dies January 16, 1913 In Mt. Etna Mrs. Clerenda Mathews was born January 10, 1825 in the state of Ohio. When a small child her parents moved to Indiana, where she grew to womanhood and later her parents to Wisconsin, where on October 30, 1842, she was joined in marriage to George Skidmore. To this union were born nin children, three of whom with the husband and father preceded their mother in death. Read More	Clerenda Mathews Skidmore Dies January 16, 1913 In Mt. Etna Mrs. Clerenda Mathews was born January 10, 1825 in the state of Ohio. When a small child her parents moved to Indiana, where she grew to womanhood and later her parents to Wisconsin, where on October 30, 1842, she was joined in marriage to George Skidmore. To this union were born nin children, three of whom with the husband and father preceded their mother in death. Mr. Skidmore died October 2, 1864 in Kingston, Georgia, he being a soldier in the civil was. Grandma, as Mrs. Skidmore was familiarly called, gave her heart to the Saviour when quite young, and was always religiously inclined. Her whole life was made a blessing to all whose lives she touched. She has entered into a larger life, but the fragrance of her beautiful years will enrich other lives. Only two of her daughters were present at the funeral, the other children living in the far west could not get here. Grandma made her home in Mt. Etna with her daughter, Mrs. H. Boatman, where she was cared for as only a loving daughter can care for a mother. The funeral services were conducted from the Mt. Etna M. E. Church by Rev A. Y.
