She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her father and mother, William and Clara; and an infant sister. Funeral services for Claris Heese, age 70 of Orchard, will be held Saturday October 2, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Orchard. Rev. Marcel Kohlmeyer will officiate with burial in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Orchard. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton. She died Tuesday September 28, 2010 at her home. God in His Almighty power created the life of Claris Mae Heese, who was born on February 22, 1940 to William and Clara (Peters) Doerr, at their home near Creighton, Nebraska. She was baptized on March 17, 1940 and confirmed on March 29, 1953 at Golgotha Lutheran Church near Wausa, Nebraska. She attended country school during her elementary years at East Highland near her home and 9-12 grades at Creighton High School, graduating in 1957. After graduation she worked at American National Bank in Creighton, Nebraska. On June 22, 1963 she married Harold Heese at Golgotha Lutheran Church in rural Wausa, Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm near Page, Nebraska until purchasing their current farm northwest of Orchard in 1970. Four children were born to them: Tammy, Kent, Lynae and Julie. Throughout her life she worked at the Ewing and Orchard Banks, worked on the farm and enjoyed being a stay at home mom. In 1986, her husband Harold was killed in a car accident. She remained on the farm and then started working at the Orchard Cheese Factory. Then she took a job driving the school bus for Orchard Public Schools until retiring in 2007. In 1995 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She remained free of cancer until 2007. She continued to fight the cancer until she passed away at her home in Orchard on September 28, 2010. She loved living life, remaining faithful to God, taking care of her two granddaughters, working with flowers, taking pictures, taking part in her kids activities, sending cards and writing letters. She was a member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church in Orchard. Survivors include her children, Tammy and Glen Cheatum of Orchard, NE; Kent Heese of Norfolk, NE; Lynae and Cole Hilker of ONeill, NE; Julie and Waylon Petsche of Norfolk, NE; granddaughters, Autumn and Hannah Hilker; special companion, Noel Wheeler of Orchard, NE; sister, Darlene Doerr of Creighton, NE; brother, Bill Doerr of Creighton, NE and his friend Jane Jensen of Plainview, NE. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her father and mother, William and Clara; and an infant sister. Praise God for His faithfulness and blessings in her life!
