The vocalist were Mrs. Clyde Schuler and Mss Helen Blackburn, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Spiker. The selections were “The Lord Is My Shepherd” and “In The Shadow Of His Wings.” Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mueller. Interment in Grant Cemetery with Wolfe Funeral Home in charge. Clark William Givan was born April 21, 1886 at Carbon, Iowa, the son of Conley Sylvester Givan and Clara May Jones. He moved from Carbon with his family to the vicinity of Grant in 1902 where he was engaged in farming which was his lifetime occupation. He was married February 16,1911 tp Kate Eva Smith at the home of the brides parents. He served on the Montgomery County Tax Board, was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Grant Church for many years and was Secretary and Treasurer of the Grant Mutual Telephone Company for 30 years, also he was a director of the Federal Land Bank for 10 years. He leaves to mourn his loss, his brother, Ralph, Chicago and Clarence of Denver, also Mrs. C. R. Eggers of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Henry Collins; Sanger California, Mrs. G. V. Patterson of Salem, Oregon, and Mrs. Wayne Brooks, Albany, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to a memorial in loving memory of Mr. Givan.
