The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, January 3, 1957 ================================ Claudie Earl Marshall of Englewood, Colo., was born Nov. 2, 1883, at Alvo, Nebr., and passed away Jan. 1, 1957, at the Swedish Hospital in Englewood, Colo., at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 29 days. He moved to Nuckolls county (sic) at an early age with his parents and grew to manhood where he married Pearl Nona Morehead in 1903 at Nelson, Nebr. To this union was born four children, Everett Marshall of Littleton, Colo., Harold Marshall of Superior, Nebr., Elva Todd of Wichita, Kan., and Golda Girardot of Littleton. This family lived on a farm near Nelson until they moved to Colorado in 1931, where he spent his remaining days. His wife Pearl preceded him in death in August of 1944. He later married Libbie Kemp of Denver, Colo. While in Colorado he operated a dairy ranch and also worked at a steel and iron works. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Nelson for a number of years until he moved to Colorado. He professed his Faith in Christ at an early age and joined the Christian church (sic) in Nelson. He later transferred his membership to the First Christian church (sic) in Englewood. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his wife and children, ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Mrs. Ella Paulson of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Alma Hoffman, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Lola Hoffman of Mankato, Kan., and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and a brother, Virgil Marshall of Fairbury, Nebr. Funeral services were held in the Christian church (sic) in Nelson Saturday afternoon at 2:00 with the Rev. Clyde Goddard officiating. At the special request of Mr. Marshall his daughter, Golda, played "Beyond The Sunset" at the services here. Burial was in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
