James, 88, of SunRise Rehabilitation Center, Glenville, died Friday, August 13, 1999, at the Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born in Normantown, the son of the late Elder Charles L. and Laura Wilson James. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was retired from General Motors Corp., Elyria, Ohio, and was a former employee of Gilmer County Board of Education. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Cumpston; two infant children; four brothers; and one sister. Services were held at Lower Steer Run Baptist Church with Elder Mark Minney officiating.
