Mahler, 72, Adams, died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 1, 2004, at the Gold Crest Retirement Center of Adams. He was born Dec. 3, 1931, at rural Adams and graduated from Adams High School in 1949. He married Idella Parde on Dec. 19, 1951, at the Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell, and they lived and farmed near Adams. Survivors: wife, Idella Mahler of Adams; sons, Keith Mahler, Kent Mahler and wife Jennifer all of Adams; daughter, LuAnn Ball of Bennet; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Elaine Harms and husband Jerry; brother-in-law, Melvin Parde and wife Marjorie, all of Adams; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie F. and Katie (Walters) Mahler; and sister, Dorothy Dorn. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, American Lutheran Church of Adams, Pastor Helmut Yurk officiating. Burial: Highland Cemetery of Adams. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in the fellowship room of the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with Fox Funeral Home, Adams, in charge. Visitation: 11 a.m. Monday until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home of Adams and at the church one hour preceding the service on Wednesday. A guest book for signatures and messages of condolence is available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net. Fox Funeral Home of Adams is in charge of arrangements.
