Market St., Jefferson, Ohio, died Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. Born August 1, 1907, in Lenox Township, he was the son of Albert and Emma (Bowery) Welser and has been a lifetime area resident. He married Mary Virginia Flack on August 12, 1938. Ted was a self-employed carpenter until his retirement. He was a member of the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the church board. He was a Sunday School Superintendent and a handyman for the church, which he loved since he joined in 1936. He enjoyed going to his cottage in Canada, sports, fishing, hunting, being a carpenter and Sunday dinners with his family, especially the pies. Surviving him are his wife, Mary, of 72 years; his daughter, Barbara A. (Glade) Heath of Jefferson; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, Keith R. and Ronald R. Welser; two brothers, Harry T. and Raymond H. Welser; and by a sister, Jessie M. Berrier. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 19th, at the Jefferson home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Richard Wright and the Rev. Meredith Coleman, of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, CO-officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson. Calling Hours will be Wednesday, August 18th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, 55 E. Satin St., Jefferson, Ohio.
