Read More	DIED BRADLEY—At Hinton, Iowa, Friday morning, August. 9, 1907, Clyde J, Bradley, of a complication of pulmonary tuberculosis and typhoid fever, aged 24 years, 11 months and 15 days. The family and friends were not unprepared for the sad summons that seemed inevitable for several days. The first intimation of the real seriousness of his condition came Wednesday, July 30, when he suffered a severe hemorrhage, after which the tubercular affection made rapid progress, aggravated by typhoid fever complications. The best of medical attention and nursing were employed, but there were only brief moments of hope. He fought the brave fight, uncomplainingly, unfalteringly, and when the end came the future held nothing of foreboding. Clyde J., second son of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Bradley, residents of Akron for many years, was born at Adaville, Plymouth county, Iowa, August 28, 1882. The family came to Akron a few years thereafter and Clyde entered our public school. He completed the course in 1898, graduating from the high school with exceptional standing. After taking a commercial course in the college at Dixon, Illinois, he attended Brawn's Business College in Sioux City. He solicited for the Prudential Insurance Co. and was employed for a time by the Haley & Lang Commission company at Fort Dodge, Iowa. After-teaching the Breezy Hill School, east of Akron, he secured the principalship of the graded school at Hinton. In 1904 he went to Victor, Colorado, and had charge of a store several months, then taking a responsible position as bookkeeper with the Colorado Trading & Transfer Co. at Cripple Creek. Returning to Akron after about a year and a half in the west, he became assistant to the postmaster at Hinton and was given full charge of the office. Then he took a position as bookkeeper in the Bank of Hinton and soon rose to the cashier ship and full control of the institution, which he held at the time of his death. Last spring he acquired a one fourth interest in the bank's business. In all these positions of trust and responsibility he held the unbounded confidence of his employers and set a high standard of efficiency, integrity and attention to detail for his associates. Of an intensely studious nature, with an unusually receptive and brilliant mind, he chose high ideals and strove faithfully for their attainment. In character, this young man's entire life might be set up as an example well worthy of emulation in this day. His friendship was prized by all, and his loyalty was only bounded by the largeness of his heart. He found much of enjoyment in the affairs of life and no better criterion of his disposition can be cited than the oration subject he chose when graduating from high school, "Get Out of My Sunlight." Deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Bradley; a brother, H.E., of Wagner, S.D., and two sisters, Mrs. Chas. W. Ruble, of Warner, S.D., and Miss Fay. These and other relatives have the profound sympathy of the communities in which he was so highly respected and beloved, each friend feeling a distinct personal loss in his untimely taking away. The remains arrived in Akron Friday evening. Funeral services were held in the Akron M.E. church Sunday afternoon and are believed to have been the most largely attended ever held here. Rev. C.E. Plummer delivered an eloquent sermon, paying splendid tribute to the young man's life and character and administering consolation to the sorrowing family. He drew his text from I. Cor., 2:17: "The world passeth away and the lust thereof, but be that doeth the will of God abideth forever." His sermon subject, "Eternity of Godly Character." The local Masonic fraternity had charge of the funeral and its beautiful ritualistic work was exemplified at the grave. A splendid tribute was the attendance at the funeral of almost a hundred members of the Hinton Masonic lodge, M.W.A. and band, to which deceased belonged. Local Masons and Woodmen met the delegation at the depot and all attended the funeral in a body. Deceased was also a member of the Masonic Royal Arch chapter, Sioux City. The floral tributes were most beautiful and profuse, nearly hiding the casket. Each of the societies to which Clyde belonged tendered a handsome floral design. The pallbearers—Jacob Ruble, L.G. Smith, L.J. Cross, C.H. Maxson, Jr., Lester Bennett and Eric H. Youugstrom—were among the boyhood companions and school mates of deceased. There were over eighty conveyances in the funeral procession. Interment in Riverside cemetery. Of the family attending the funeral were his mother, his brother, H.E., and wife, and sister, Fay, of Wagner, S.D. His father and older sister were detained at Wagner by illness.
